Reiki

The Usui System of Reiki is an ancient laying-on-of-hands healing technique that uses the Universal life force energy to balance the subtle energies within our bodies. This subtle energy, Qi, is the essence of our entire being. When healthy, Qi moves throughout our physical, emotional, and spiritual body so that we may thrive and experience wellness. Energy however, also has the potential to  become stagnant and blocked. Life force energy needs to be maintained in a balance of external energy output and internal energy production. Reiki practitioners act as a conduit or channel through which Reiki energy travels. The intended result of receiving Reiki is a balanced physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

*FAQ

Is physical touch required?

A: No

The “floating hands method” is also an option. There is no difference in the benefit experienced by the placement of my hands on your body versus floating my hands over your body. Should you desire to alternate positions during the treatment, please feel free to ask me to do so e.g. “please use hands on entire body”; “please use floating hands over pelvis” etc.

*Please note that breasts, genitalia and buttocks will not be touched.

What is a reiki session like?

A: Each experience is unique

The Reiki treatment experience is unique for everyone. Reiki tends to feel profoundly relaxing and enjoyable for all. During a Reiki session, you are asked to lie supine and will remain fully clothed. The majority of the session will involve your practitioner hovering her hands over your body allowing life force energy to flow from her hands to the recipient. If intuitively guided to do so, your practitioner will ask permission to place her hands on your body only in a manner that is acceptable to you and within the legal limits of the practice.

*If the reclined position is uncomfortable/inaccessible, Reiki can be administered while you sit in a chair or on a stool.

Can reiki “cure” me?

A: Specific outcomes are not guaranteed

Reiki is a complementary medical art that works well alone as well as in concert with other treatments. Healing is often the result of gentle shifts in awareness, release of emotional patterns, achievement of new understanding, and daily practice.

*Reiki is not a replacement for traditional medical treatment or medication(s).

*Your practitioner is not a licensed physician. Your Reiki practitioner will not diagnose illness or disease, nor will she prescribe medications or supplements.
